Residency Issue

I have a little residency issue and need some answers before turning in my CHL paperwork.

Backstory:
I bought a house and moved in April 2008 (about 5 miles away). I have not changed my address on my driver's license, employer information, tax info, etc. due to keeping my daughter in a better school in the distric. The address I use is actually my in-laws address because we lived with them for about 2 years prior to moving. I cannot change my address because I can't risk having to move her to a new school.

I guess my real question is: When they are checking your info on the application, do they simply go by the DPS database? Will they just compare my residency history to what they have on file from my driver's license history? Do they check anywhere else?

Also, I'm not positive on when I changed my address last (not even the month) on my driver's license. Can I call the DPS and get my residency history from them? If not, what can I do to ensure my residency history is accurate. I don't want to get denied because it is not entirely correct.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

They check for property tax delinquency but I don't know if that check also turns up real property ownership. Even if it does, it's legal to own property at a different address than your primary residence, like a rental property or vacation home.

I think violating Texas Transportation Code - Section 521.054 is a Class C misdemeanor, so it shouldn't prevent you from getting a CHL.

if they check the taxes they might see where you declared homestead.

Does anyone know what they check during the process? I could maybe change the address on my DL but would that really change anything? What would you do in this situation?
