Surgery on Thursday

I'm scheduled to have my prostate removed this coming Thursday, January 14. We won't know the exact time until late Wednesday afternoon.

The good news is that the cancer is still very early stage, but we decided to get it out of there before it has a chance to spread.

The doctor, at M D Anderson, is very experienced -- he has performed the laparoscopic procedure about eight hundred times over the last six years or so.

As usual, my wife is more worried about it than I am, although I'm not looking forward to the recovery time.

Prayers will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

:iagree: A colonoscopy at NLT age 50 is also highly recommended. This, and colon cancer, are insidious cancers with no warning signs. Once you detect a symptom, your time's usually up.

Good luck and God Bless to LarryH AND his family.

Larry,

I had mine removed at Methodist Hospital by a Dr. from Baylor Medical in September. The recovery time was remarkably short for me. I was up and on my feet doing light things in less than two weeks. I go back on the 19th for my second post op check. If you would like to talk shoot me a PM with your phone number.

In my research M. D. Anderson and Baylor Medical were a coin toss both are top notch.

I'll be praying for you.

Morris (MoJo)
