Did a quick search for this and did not find anything, so forgive me if I overlooked. This stuff is on sale at my local Big 5 for $8.99 a box of 20. It is FMJ 55 grain. Didn't know if it is reliable ammo for plinking or if it is prone to issues. I'll be shooting it our of my AR. Thanks for your input.

I'm seeing a lot of good deals on .223 and 5.56 FMJ lately. A lot of places (Cabela's, Wal Mart) have Remington .223 MC 20-round packs for $7.99. Academy has Winchester white box 5.56 FMJ for $8.99. GT Distributors in Austin has Speer Lawman 5.56 FMJ for $7.99

So $8.99 for ammo you're not sure about may not be the deal that it was a few months ago.

Thanks for the link, Dan. If it shoots good this weekend, I'll probably order up a case or two.

I bought 2K rounds of this a while back. I've shot about 800 through my Stag 2T without a single failure. I'd buy it again.

Ive been running OMC ammo for 20+ years, in many many different calibers, its always been dependable.

Ive ran quit a bit of the 223 thru my Noveske's, never had any type of failures, doesnt seem to be too dirty.
keep in mind, its an underpowered loading.

I fired approximately 300 rounds of it this weekend testing out one of my M&P15 VTAC rifles and didn't have one malfunction. I have several cases of it and believe I got it from Palmetto State Armory.
