I've tried Google and haven't found what I need. Anyone know if, in Texas, we have limitations on how much powder and how many primers we can legally own/possess/store, and if there are any particular storage requirements at various quantity points? Our insurance agent suggested a friendly walk-through this spring before we renew our policy, just in case we're missing any discounts (or, more likely, if he can find any red flags). Such a walk-through is not mandatory, but it got me thinking...would my 6 pounds of powder and 3K primers, stored openly on a 8' high shelf in the garage above my work bench, be flagged?

What about county limits? I'm in unincorporated Harris County.

If this is bad ju-ju, what kind of storage boxes do you recommend?

How do they know if you don't broadcast it? Other than that, if you want to know what I'm storing, come back with a warrant for probable cause, big guy...

First, there is no reason to advertise it. just put it in a box under a bed or something.

Second, there are standards as linked above. They only technically apply to commercial operations but they are good ideas. You r few lbs and thou primers are no big deal to anyone in the know...but why risk it.

Are you guys really keeping more than 10,000 primers in any one location?
It says "residence", but I have three separate structures, so I assume I could store 10,000 in each.

Unless he can clearly articulate what sort of discounts he may be able to offer you, I'd politely decline.

If you DO let him in, put powder, primers, ammo, etc. out of sight . . . why advertise? He may SOUND friendly, but he's not really your friend, and business is business.

its like advertising how many firearms you have at your house,
