gunpowder and primer @ gunshow?

I'm having a hard time finding gunpowder and primers locally. I'm also having a hard time finding an online supplier with BOTH gunpowder and primers in stock. This makes the hazmat and shipping fees really high for the starter order I'd like to make. There is a SAXET show in San Antonio next weekend - does anybody think I'm likely to find pistol power and large pistol primers there? I'm trying to decide between waiting or going ahead with an online order.

You can always call the Saxet people and ask if they have any dealers specializing in reloading supplies that will be at that show. They should be able to tell you. If that's the only reason you're going, it might save you a trip.

Have you tried Cabelas in Buda?

There was a dealer at the Tyler show on 23 Jan. who had primers and powder. IIRC,the primers were some $50/M and the powder was some $25/lb.

Sadly, that was then and this is now. At the same show there were dealers who had WWB .45 acp for $50-55/C while Wal-Mart had the same WWB for $35/C.

I'll second trying Cabela's in Buda. Call ahead and ask them if they have what you want. If they do, ask them to set them aside with your name on them. They are really good about doing this. As for the gun show, there have been a couple of people who show up with powder and primers (lots of reloading supplies really), but neither of them were at the January show. I did find quite a few vendors with primers though. I'm hoping the reloading folks were just on vacation or something.

Yep, drove all the way down to Cabela's - no large pistol primers, no pistol gunpowder. Its good to know that you can call and reserve - I'll give that a try.
