League City: Serial "peeping Tom"

In League City, a man has been entering women's bathrooms in department stores and looking into occupied stalls by crawling under the partition.

He is described as " a dark Hispanic man in his 20s or 30s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with facial scars."

Peeping is disorderly conduct [PC 42.01(a)(11)(C)], a class C misdemeanor.

Other than screaming and calling 911, I'm wondering what the ladies think would be an appropriate response here. One woman kicked the creep. I doubt he would be calling the police to complain about assault.

This guy's deranged.

I hope they catch him before he goes beyond just creepy behavior.

Unfortunately, the most severe punishment he can get for peeping is a $500 fine.

This happened in Braintree Mass back when I was working there.
http://www.wickedlocal.com/braintree/ne ... d-indicted" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The dirt bag dragged a Trash can in front of the Womans rest room, no one noticed, he then tried to look under the bathroom, woman screamed and kicked him, he ran off no one tried to stop him.
It made me SOOOOOOO mad because I was there not Hours before on my lunch break. I know, I would have stopped him (I had previously pointed out and help stop a shoplifter there.)

As for response, Knife, Gun, Pepper Spray, Boots. Gouge his eye if you can with your thumb if you can, he wont be able to fight back half under a stall

I don't know that the target of peeping has justification to use force that causes serous injury (knife, etc.). Staring up the barrel of a handgun might cause the guy to rethink his priorities.

As I said earlier, he's not likely to go to the police. In fact, I would be surprised if he didn't already have a record or is on probation or parole.

Looks like some high heels have already found their mark. Hope they catch the pervert soon and can find a way to charge him more than disorderly conduct.

Get a rope.

I think it really depends on if she felt threatened of bodily harm by the individual. If she screamed and he ran, then no. Now, no doubt she could use force by drawing the weapon, and maybe that would make the peeping tom scream and run away! LOL

On a side note, I had a flight back into DFW one night where we were in a holding pattern for almost an hour due to storms in the area. They would not let us get out of our seats because of turbulence.

By the time we landed, I REALLY needed to go to the bathroom. Being that I was in the front of the plane I decided to just run out the jet-way and hit the restroom in the terminal.

As I headed into the restroom, I rounded the little half-circle entrance and something just didn't look right. I realized there were only stalls, and no urinals. Also, there was a ladies purse visible under one of the stalls (not smart, but I digress.)

I immediately realized I had ran into the ladies restroom and quickly reversed direction like I had just seen a 30.06 sign.

As I rounded the entryway, another lady was entering. She started laughing uncontrollably as I passed her. I must have been  and she realized embarrassed I was.

I don't see how. The creep is not threatening deadly force or attempting robbery, kidnapping, or sexual assault.

That's why I said using a knife would not be justified.

Obviously not, but you don't own the bathroom, so Castle Doctrine does not apply.

Burnett, who was wearing a women’s cap and her hair pulled back, also thinks the man had watched her in the store and had brushed against her purposely when she was shopping.

“He could tell that I was small in physique and he could probably overpower me,” Burnett said. “I felt like he put a lot of thought in what he was going to do that day.”
That seems like a behavioral escalation to me...

I believe this guy has committed more serious crimes in the past...So the quicker he gets caught, the better...

As far as this peeping tom, I hope he gets a good face stomp. Maybe one of those ladies will put their high heels in his eye.

I was in a restroom at an Applebees about a month ago. I was the only one in there and standing at the urinal doing my business when a young lady jabbing on a cell phone bursts in. She stands there talking for about 5 seconds, when she glances over and notices a guy standing there. She turns about 8 shades of red and goes "Am I in the wrong bathroom or are you?" I smile and say "oh, that would be you". She turns and dashes out, but the whole time, the phone never leaves her ear.
