That is wild.

I think it would come under the definition of a fully automatic weapon. ;-)

I've seen it before, but had forgotten about it. Thanks for the link. :thumbs2:

Wow! It can launch 40mm grenades at a rate of 250,000 rounds per minute!

A few things I don't understand:

1. Where do the spent shell casings go? Or is this some new type of ammo where the powder is inside the rear of the projectile itself (like a missle or rocket) and doesn't have a separate bullet and case?

2. If the electronic igniter fails to light the first projectile, the spokesman said then the second projectile would ignite and just push the first one out of the way. How is this possible with out overpressurizing and blowing up the barrel? Seems to me a plugged barrel is a plugged barrel, regardless of how the cartridge is ignited.

3. Where do you put the batteries in that toy? "rlol"

Once you start placing integrated circuits (GO Texas Instruments!) in a product, in this case a handgun, all limits are set aside.
The circuit can sense and fire or not fire in any sequence you desire. It opens up a whole new set of possibilities.
More expensive? Yes.
Think digital cameras, toasters, car computers.
More possibilities AND the potential for critical failures at the wrong moment.
However, I'll take a good ole basic handgun and a good ole pre-circuit board car any time.
Even an electromagnetic pulse can't disrupt a gun or a car if it has no circuit board.

1. No shell casings, the barrels are the casings, and so far, Metal Storm hasn't come up with a real efficient way to reload, you replace the barrels with new, preloaded, ones.

2. There is a significant difference between a plugged barrel with an obstruction any kind of distance in front of the projectile and two projectiles essentially in contact. The two in contact act more like a single projectile than a projectile meeting an obstruction, just reducing ballistic efficiency.

3. In the base/handle/grip.
