This call I had at work yesterday

...from DynaBlue, who had noticed someone taking an interest in her as she left Food Town-El Dorado yesterday afternoon. A hispanic-looking male noticeably (to her) watched her as she walked to her car. She hadn't noticed the gentleman prior to then. While putting the cart back in the rack, she decided to strike up a conversation with another lady (a stranger) who was sitting in a car. :thumbs2:

As she entered her own car, she watched him get into his car and repark closer to her, behind a cart rack from her. She continued to take her time (our normal first course of defense).

She then called me, wondering if she were being too much of a preparanoic (noun of preparanoid? ) (I definitely told her she wasn't). She wanted to get his license #; on my suggestion, she stayed on the phone and discreetly walked over and relayed the info to me. Choice here: She wanted to drive over there, but I figured she was more protected and flexible out of the car. If seen, her being on the phone would tell him that she was communicating with someone.

Note that he had stayed in his car this entire time since leaving the store.

She then left the parking lot, and watched to see if she were followed (no phone -- control of the car is more important). Turns out she was: She saw him about six cars behind her. She lost him in traffic, without having to do anything unusual. Her next stop, she called me again, I told her she did fine, and I reminded her of the spray in the glove box for future incidents (she had forgotten).

No, not carrying. Her shopping day is Friday, since she's not in class that day (the school went to four-day weeks a couple years ago), and that allows her to drop me off at work and only have one car on the road. Since we're absolutely out of luck on entering the gate armed at my work (and we're still trying to figure out the College -- maybe a topic for another thread), we can't carry during the week.

Need to mention: She was perfectly calm and cool throughout, simply asking my advice while on the phone.
This isn't the first time she's been aware of things going on around her (plenty of stories, even from small towns), but the first time since she got her plastic. Her awareness has increased that much more, due much to the good reminders on this forum.
:tiphat:

She thanks you! (She's still shy about posting.)
Personally, I think it's from our roaming the hills at night back home....

I'm glad everything turned out well and the threat was resolved.

This is the reason limits to concealed carry should be eliminated or limited significantly, IMHO. I only recently have been allowed to "carry" to work, but leave in my car.

Seems like she handled that well all around. Kudos!

I also like that she didn't go directly home after she noticed him behind her on the road...seems wise to help confirm that he was actually lost, not just suddenly better at blending in than he'd been previously.

It pays to be aware at all times, good for her. :clapping:
