I know that the shows here in Austin are posted, and I know that if you get you gun ZIP TIED at the door all is good.
But when you walk in do you have it in (holster of your choice) and pull it out and get zip tie and re-holster?
I am going tomorrow and rather not leave gun in the car.

That's the way I do it here in Dallas and Ft. Worth. I remove the mag and round in the chamber in the car. Re-holster, and when I go up to the table to get it zip tied, then I remove it, open the slide and hand it to the officer or Big Mike, whichever is there. Once tied I re-holster and pay my entrance fee.
They may do differently in Austin though.

In the Houston area you can not bring in any ammo. So I unload it in the car. You should leave the mag in the car not in your pocket. Get it tied at the door and back in the holster.

What if I want one of the armorers or gunsmiths at the show to check out my pistol. Do they cut the tie and then re-tie? Or what?
