We decided to try this for fun after reading marksewil's thread about a target at 7yds and all the responses about practicing marksmanship vs. practicing SD. I was surprised at how different it felt to try and hit the playing card vs trying to hit the X ring of a silhouette target. They are about the same size, but that playing card can really psyche you out. I guess with the silhouette, you know somewhere in your head that if you miss the X-ring, you're still hitting something, while with the playing card, a miss is a miss. It was an interesting drill even if it was all in fun. You could use a laser sight.
