Anyone ever found any use for their NRA membership? In a few years I will have payed off my life-time-membership, other than supporting an organization that I more or less agree with, is their any other benefits to Membership?

You usually must belong to the NRA to join a shooting range (at least in this area).

Discounts at hotels, car rentals, and gun stores.

Wow. I've been a member at a LOT of ranges, and NEVER heard that you must be an NRA member to shoot at a range. Sure, NRA recruits heavily at ranges and has partnership programs, but mandatory?! Bleh. I'm an NRA Patron and I would never approve of such a requirement if I was asked. Just my two cents

I could go for them having a separate part of the range where only NRA members can shoot, and do the fun stuff (Draw from Holsters, Rabid Fire, shoot a target with a Shotgun from 15 yards out ect)

PSC requires NRA membership to join.

I've been pushing for my present club to require this, but to no avail. This is the easiest way to improve the caliber of the membership.

I have wanted a concealed weapon permit since the 1970s. Since I can now have a CHL, that's enough for me.

How bout the question? What is it we could "possibly not have" if we did not support the NRA? :txflag:

Now that I really have thought about it, my father taught me how to shoot safely. The NRA Junior Marksmanship Program taught me to shoot safely and accurately. The NRA Hunter Safety Program taught me how to be safe in the field when I was hunting. The NRA Instructor's Program taught me how to be a Hunter Safety Instructor so that I could teach students to shoot safely in the field.

It is my belief that the NRA has protected our gun rights in ways that we can't imagine. From what I understand, the NRA has people that go through (line by line) all new legislation to make sure that our 2nd amendment rights are protected and preserved.

The NRA has a lot of political clout, and that's why I support them as much as I can.

marksiwel (above) started this thread with, "...any other benefits ... "

Perhaps it is appropriate at this time to mention that OUR Supreme Court will hear arguments in the case of
McDonald vs Chicago 08-1521 next Tuesday (02-Mar-2010) at 10:AM. I believe OUR NRA has submitted opinions
regarding this case.
