You just can't make this stuff up.

By the way, Barney needs to get his finger off the bang switch.

Evidently more than one round due to the reference of Barney's pocket Bullet.

If non-LEO had done that we would never get out of jail. :banghead:

How was a gun in the jail? Every LEO I see there has empty holsters, myself included.

I even have to take out the ASP and my backup on my ankle.

Let me see if I can apply a truth we all already know.

The guy that will rob a bank wont obey the no guns allowed.

Well the gentleman above that would know he is high enough above the law that he can shoot a gun inside is sure high enough above the law to take it in.

:banghead: again.

I see what you're saying but like you will be physically removed and in huge trouble if you bring a weapon into a secure facility. They have lock boxes for us to disarm at but we mostly just use the trunk if it's inside the sullyport.

technically off topic: if your gun has to clear leather for storing somewhere to enter a faciltiy, you should always secure it in your vehicle, ive seen way too many officers have to go back to the jail to get their gun after forgetting it. if you forget it and its in the trunk, then its still with you.

ive made it a practice, put the car keys in your holster, when you go to the jail, youll have to retrieve them from your EMPTY holster to gain access back into the car. it should help you remember.

I have always said, "it is hard to leave your keys in a restaurant". At least to leave them for long.

This is sort of our line of thinking too. Great note.

Back on topic though...I wonder what he thought the gun would do to the lock? And if he carried a gun surely he had a radio...

Who knows...I wasn't there...kinda funny though.

Otis might have stumbled in and closed the door on him, before he put himself in jail.

Why could a LEO have his gun in a secure facility?

My impression from the article was that he was looking
around a new facility that had not yet taken in any prisoners.

Apparently there was no one else around, or he wouldn't have
drawn down on the troublesome, claustrophobia-inducing door.
