TCIC and expired CHL

03Lightningrocks' message in another topic got me to thinking.

A current CHL will show up in TCIC. What about an expired one?
Will the old CHL data flush out of the system if someone doesn't renew?

What about a suspended or revoked CHL? Does that pop up a red flag?

Thanks!

boomerang - I don't think CHL info is in the TCIC data base but I could be wrong. I thought TCIC was a data base for wanted persons and stolen stuff.

If you do a DL query in TCIC you will get information off the DL plus the status (revoked, eligible, etc) You have to do a wanted person query to get a hit request for the CHL linked to the DL. I assume since it is an interactive system.... warrants being added and deleted all the time that your old CHL should get dumped from the system but with any other human based system there are errors...... Example we got a hit confirmation request for a Tech schooler who was a deserter only to find out she had been found, returned and discharged about 6 months prior...... someone didnt remove the warrant from TCIC.... Luckely the Police in Oklahoma were nice enough to wait for us to verify..... hard to do when you have to call different people...... Took about 25 minutes.......

Chl status (active /revoked /suspended /expired )is retained for, as of now, indefinately.

Retained yes, but will it reflect in TCIC/NCIC (TLETS) checks

Additionally, when you do get a hit on a Chl (I do when I get ran....... dont ask.....) The info (just like the DL) shows up as listed on it including valid/suspended/revoked.... again just like the DL.

I never saw it but I would assume if it expires it would get dropped from TLETS requests and shouldnt show up there......

The Air Force breaks up AFSC's (Air Force Specialty Code) -Basically your job identifier into sub categories to differentiate your skill level....
Example my AFSC is 3P0X1 (Security Forces-Air Force MP)
When you grad Tech School you obtain your 3 level (3P031) and you are labeled as an apprentice
Once you complete your career development course (CDC)/About the time you are an A1C/SrA (E-3/E-4) you obtain your 5 level (3P051) and labeled as a journeyman
Once you make SSgt (E-5), you compete CDCs and attend the SF Craftsman Course you obtain your 7 skill level (3P071) and are labeled a Craftsman and you hold that until you make MSgt (E-7) at which point you get a new title for your skill level, which would be a 9 (3P091) at which point that is the highest skill level and I cant remember what its called....

ETA: It is Superintendant
