Tuned into 96.7 today and found out the station is broadcasting all Ronald Reagan Speeches all the time. This is a radio station in Dallas/Fort Worth..Flower Mound to be specific. It is a pleasure to listed to the Great Communicator.
UPDATED: Ronald Reagan staging takeover of 96.7 FM in Dallas — until Mondayby Sarah Blaskovich
It's just a lot of love for Ronald Reagan. What, is that weird?
It's non-stop Ronald.FLOWER MOUND — If you tuned in to North Texas' Platinum 96.7 FM Thursday, you would have heard oldies songs from the 1950s, '60s, '70s, and '80s. But Platinum 96.7 FM as we know it has left the airwaves and been replaced with none other than non-stop Ronald Reagan speeches.
We heard that something was adrift with 96.7 FM on Friday, but thought it becoming "Ronald Reagan 96.7" was a strange joke. Not so; as I listen to the station right now, I hear: "The answer to international terrorism is difficult, but it can be found."
Why this happened, we can't be sure. If you go to one site calling itself KPMZ – Platinum 96.7 Flower Mound, even the official link takes you to Reagan Radio. A statement between Reagan speeches says, "Ronald Reagan would have been 100 years old on his next birthday, and we're presenting some of his most important speeches."
Phone calls to two numbers that seemed to be connected to 96.7 FM both took me to a voicemail, one of which had a full mailbox.
UPDATE: At 5 a.m. Monday, Reagan Radio (formerly Platinum 96.7) will turn into a simulcast of News/Talk clustermate WBAP-AM, according to Radio Ink. The Star-Telegram reports that WBAP believes it will do considerably better with an FM format.
