I haven't found anything in the news on this yet, but a friend of mine who works crime and trauma scene cleanup has been contacted by the CDC about preparing for Mexican refugees in the DFW area, so I assume this will be statewide at the least, perhaps across several states.

I don't know very much right now, but apparently this is real, and very serious (serious enough to order $30,000 in cleaning chemicals). If I find out more I'll post it up.

I have already been advised strongly to go get an H1N1 vaccine tomorrow.

I live in a town where the two major "arteries" out of Mexico converge. What you just heard may explain why I saw FOUR DPS cars within under a mile of one another. Two in the southbound and two in the northbound lanes. They were cuffing and stuffing quite a few young males (I drive one of the arteries at least 4 x's a day). Of course, local PD, SD, and DPS patrol this area quite heavily anyhow. But I thought it incredibly odd to see so many DPS cars.

Munk...I was thinking the same thing. The bill was signed and they have all found out that it included free healthcare to all illegals.

Are they running from something or to?

What I just heard is that the cartels are shutting down towns driving up and down the streets and massacring residents. I really hope this is not true.

I got clarification on this, the Mexican government is [was?] shutting down towns because the cartels are getting much more violent. I found this stub article. This might have been what I heard about last night. I don't see why this would cause the CDC is start preparing for something though.

Why doesn't the USA just annex Mexico as a territory? If everyone down there wants to live in the USA so much, why don't we take the USA to them? The language barrier isn't as huge as people might think. If the US was calling the shots, we'd be better able to shut down the cartel activity.
