Maximum Number of Login Attempts

I started a new userID, temporarily, to post this question and figure out what is going on.
During the day at work I am logged in and constantly reading.
During lunch today, I tried to log in on my Blackberry (to receive a PM that I was email notified that I received) and it would not let me, not sure if I had the wrong password in my head, probably though.
I think I tried to log in 3-4 times on by Blackberry.

I get back to work after lunch and all is good.

I get home and it has me log in (instead of auto-logging me in) and it says "You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to enter the confirm code from the image you see below."
There is no "image" below to enter the code from, only the box that says "what is the name of this forum"
I started getting that at 4pm.
How long till it lets me log in?
I can see when people try to hack into others sites, so the 3 attempt and block for 5-10 minutes, but its been 1 hour and 45 minutes and to be honest, its driving my bored mind bonkers!

there is no way to contact anyone from the main page, unless you are logged in and you cant log in to contact anyone to see what is up.... catch 22

Help! and thanks!

I did the same thing myself today cause I had forgotten my password then just put in my user name and clicked on forgot password. they issued another one. You can get into the forum without logging in and just go to you user control panel to do this. That is if you are still having a problem logging in. My computer know how is -0. "rlol"

thanks, but no go.

I did request a new password and got it, but still got the "exceeded the # of login attempts"

There should be a time limit on how long that it lasts, or a way to reset it (venting now)...... While I don't mind starting over at 1 post, I am 30 some posts in (yes, still relatively new), but the big thing is if I have to keep a new user name, that any of my previous comments, threads, etc, I won't be able to just see them, I will have to search for them the hard way.
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Help (again)

Send me a PM with your user name. I'll try to see what's happening. The max. attempt to log on is time limited and I think it somewhere around 15 minutes.

Chas.

Silly question, but did you clear cookies out of your browser's cache?

I am at work right now, clicked on the URL for the forum and it loaded right up, on my "original" user name.
did not prompt a login and did not give any "Max # of login attempts"
So either it is fixed or my work PC will do things (now) that my home PC will do, and prior to yesterday, they were used identically.

Hmmmm

PM sent to Charles again.

Is anyone else having this problem? The maximum login attempts merely triggers the CAPTUA if it is exceeded. Also, I don't know why someone would be booted off once they are logged on.

I'm using my desktop (main browsing computer) for work right now, so I tried to login on my laptop.

On my desktop, I'm recognized automatically.

When I entered my info from my laptop, I instantly got the "login attempts exceeded". And I haven't tried to login from the laptop in months.

...and I wasn't on with my desktop either (I logged on afterwards to post this question).

Help?

Send a PM to Charles, thats what I had to do.
However since that day, I have not tried to log in via my Blackberry again, just in case..... (but sometimes I wish I could, but don't want logged out again)
