Cowtown Cop blog has gone offline...

I just learned that the Cowtown Cop gun-blog (http://cowtowncop.blogspot.com/) has been taken down, much to my chagrin. Cowtown Cop is/was a Fort Worth police officer, and he had great stories to tell about various guns he owned or was working on, and some entertaining "cop stories" too. I hope that he's OK. He was on my short list of blogs that I check on with some regularity. He was a nice-guy too. I once sent him an email about my son's interest (at the time) in police work as a career, and he was kind enough to answer it with a thoughtful reply. However, I noticed a while back that he hadn't posted anything new in several months and I began to check his site less frequently. This morning, I looked, and his site no longer exists - at least not under that name. If anyone here happens to know what happened to him, pass it along to me, as I would like to know that he's OK.

Here is a list of other blogs that I like to read. Some are gun-blogs, some are not, but all are entertaining:
Anyway, RIP Cowtown Cop, wherever you may be. Stay safe out there.

I like the Monster Hunters book, but downright dislike the Author and his blog.

I liked the book very much too. What is it about the author and his blog that you downright dislike, or is it his obvious conservative political leanings? Just curious. To each, his own.

A recent post from LawDog:
Political bingo
By way of a Gentle Reader we have learned of a way to make listening to the speeches of the current POTUS fun.

Take a five-inch by five-inch square of paper and divide it into 25 squares by way of a magic marker. In each square, in a random fashion write each of the following:

Restored our reputation
Strategic fit
Let me be clear
Make no mistake
Back from the brink
Signs of recovery
Out of the loop
Benchmark
Job creation
Fiscal restraint
Win-win
Affordable health care
Previous Administration
Greed on Wall Street
At the end of the day
Empower/Empowerment
Touch base
Mindset
Corporate greed
Ballpark
Game plan
Leverage
Inherited
Unprecedented

Now, sit down to listen to the next political speech from the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, and each time one of the 25 words or phrases passes his lips, mark out that square.

When you get a full five blocks horizontally, vertically or diagonally marked off, jump up and yell, "Bull!"

See? Fun already.

Not that so much, his tone tends to be alittle Haughty.
I dont like that basically he used his blog to start a fight with one of his readers recently. I use the Jim Butcher forum as an example, Jim (Writer of the Dresden files) would go on his forum, answer questions and even get into little disagreements, but he wouldnt try and bully people who he disagreed with, and would even admit he's wrong now and again, or he would do the smart thing and not get involved.

Aaahhh. I was unaware that he even had a Forum, as I don't find a link to it on his website. I know he posts over at THR, but that's not his forum.

You're welcome. Enjoy. There are some older gems of stories on the LawDog site. He grew up in Africa where his father was a petroleum engineer of some sort. The stories have an almost "Mark Twain" quality.
