On Tom Gresham's Gun Talk radio show this past
Sunday, he was interviewing Mr. Massad Ayoob, gun expert, LEO,
defense witness, self-defense instructor, author, ......

Ayoob mentioned the Armed Citizens Network as a helpful resource.

This site encourages the purchasing of pre-paid legal services. The aim
is to immediately provide legal assistance to a GG who had to use his/her
weapon in a self-defense situation.

I didn't really read the whole site, but there are plenty of gun-related stories
which can keep everyone busy reading. You don't have to be a member of
their organization to browse all the great articles on their site.

"Selecting a defensive handgun".... Some of his top choices were Glock 19's
and XD 9's.

Happy reading.

Quahog lent me his book "The Gun Digest of Concealed Carry" by Ayoob.
I haven't yet finished it, but Ayoob is very knowledgeable, as far as I can tell.
Quahog has finished the book and raved about it.

I am definitely going to check out this site. This statement really captured my attention:

"Preparation to survive the second attack—the legal aftermath of a justifiable defense shooting—is critical. Ignore it at your own peril."

This seems to be a common thought in both Massad's books and in writings of John S. Farnam. They both give lots of good advice on how to best protect yourself in the aftermath. I especially liked Farnam's suggestions on what to do in a traffic stop while carrying, etc.

The way I see it, the more you know, the better prepared you are to deal.
