Yes, mostly issues created by me.
First off, I did not use a "Full service" CHL class. I just took the class. We didn't even get registration packets. So after the class, I registered online.
Never got anything from the state. After 2 months of no action, I got the registration packet and started it myself. Of course, I had already paid online (and registered) so I spent extra time and correspondence making sure the online payment got linked to the manual forms. And at least once, the process stopped, and would not have resumed unless I had checked into it and got it going again.
It did not help that DPS did not answer the phone nor reply to emails when I first started the process. Then all of a sudden they became responsive. shrug

Usually a Kel-Tec P32
Otherwise, clothing permitting, a P11
I will probably pick up a S&W 642 at some point

I like my P-11, I carry it on the weekends in my pocket. The P-11 has been a good little gun but for some reason the curve of the trigger causes the end of the trigger to dig into my finger when I shoot at the range. Otherwise it's a good one.

Buy a trigger shoe.
Makes a big difference in comfort.
Also the magazine pinky extension.
