Cool beans. My favorite scope is a 10X fixed with mil/mil/mil, so ranging wasn't a problem for me. But the mil settings on that range card for windage are either incorrect, or I suck at calculating the windage, because my first run through netted a total score of 89 out of a hundred, and I like to think that I'm a better shot than that.
must... try.... again....

Range card says .2mil per 1mph windage at 900 yards. Wind is 12 mph. That should yield a windage adjustment of 2.4 mil, right?
It turns out that the correct value at that range is 1.7 mil. This type of error repeats itself over and over, which means that you've either got a wrong range card being displayed for that bullet weight, or, their algorithm is not calculating correctly....
....or am I missing something?
Scored a 90 this time around.

BTW, my son has a Horus scope on his M1A, and it that reticle works really well. The reticle is a little too busy for old-school shooters' tastes, but it is gaining acceptance in the long range shooting community, and some very high end manufacturers are beginning to incorporate Horus reticles into their high end scopes.
Here's a link to a demo of how it works:

I don't know if it is good or not, but first time out I shot an 85. That's with zero experience at long-range shooting, although i'd love to get into it at some point. Like TAM said: must...try...again!

That's what I was missing... I didn't see the wind direction indicator on the meter.
Sigh... I've got to get my glasses fixed.

Well, I proved that I am not as good as I was more than 40 years ago.

Use the Pythagorean theorem to calculate the horizontal vector.

There you go using math again and ruining the fun for the rest of us.

I scoed a 97. Math works!

I scored a 83 on my second try. Don't even ask how my first attempt went.
Once I got the windage and ranging figured out, it wasn't too bad. Thanks for sharing!
