This is a 50th anniversary (1935-1985) S&W .357 magnum MDL 27-3
MDL 27-3 Commemorative 50th.jpg
It's been in my safe since I bought it in Germany as a young Soldier 1985, was the first NEW gun I ever purchased.

There were 2500 of these manufactured as Commemoratives in 1985 this one is number 1542.

I have the original box,

shipping container, all paperwork, Certificate, Brass plaque for the presentation case, and of course the velvet lined case.

My reputation is worth more than money to me, so under the truth in advertising idea.. This gun has SLIGHT drag mark wear on the cylinder, as a young man many years ago, I felt the need to cock the hammer back a few times.. never understanding that even those two or three times would cause a slight mark on the cylinder.

The lid on the case is of a laminate design, there is a slight raise in one of the glue joints.. not cracked, and the case has never been dropped or crushed (it's also never had the gun in it, so no wear in the lining)

I'm asking $800 OBO FTF in the CENTEX area TX DL and or a CHL.. Shipping though an FFL can be arraigned at buyers cost.

I'm funding a new gun purchase so not particularly interested in trades,

If you have any questions or pic requests you can PM me here or email me at marquezracing at centurylink d0t net ( replace anti spam stuff in address with @ and .)

Thanks for looking.

Well I guess that answers that question... No one is interested in Commemoratives here.. Not surprised as it is a CHL focus forum.. Just figured I'd give it a shot (pun intended)

It's a beautiful gun. I'm sure there's someone somewhere that would love to give it a home.
Have you considered trying Texas Gun Trader?

I have not yet,,, It's a love hate deal,, It has been with me since my first days in the Military,it was my first NEW gun..... but that is the extent of my motivation to keep it. I'm not interested in collecting firearms for the sake of collecting. I know lots are though so I think it should go to a better home and I'll buy a new "tool" I can use.

Disappointed is the word of the day I suppose..

As suggested I posted this ad material on Texas gun traders... not so much as a bite ... So I'd guess it goes back in the safe for another 20 years and then we will try again. :patriot:

Lots of new members since this one was on the front page..

Still a safe queen,,still available as the last sale fell though...seems cash and proof of residency means something different to some folks :grumble
No I wont mail this gun to you.
No I wont sell you a gun if you will not provide some sort of ID, yes I know it's not required by law,, But it is required by me. I do not apologize if that offends.

I was surprised (and probably shouldn't have been) at the last gun show I went to where I overheard several folks asking several vendors if "papers" and "signing things" were required.

This one is still sitting in my safe, lonely, in need of a more appreciative home (Gun display case would be nice)

Make me an offer I cant refuse
