Can you still carry while waiting on the new plastic to come in the mail?

Shouldn't take long to get your new one. I got mine in under two weeks from placing the request. My DL, now that's a different animal. Going on 3 weeks for that and still nothing.

I did the address change online in January. Took about 12 days to get the CHL, just over three weeks for DL.

I agree you can carry but I think you don't get the NICS bypass until you have your new plastic. The FFL shouldn't accept a CHL that has a different address than the 4473 and you're breaking the law if you use the wrong address on the 4473.

I know it's off topic a little, but when I changed address in Colorado, they said no new card would be issued. Just changed in the computer data base. Too much trouble and expense to re-issue a card for just a change of address, they said. This was a sheriff. Counties issue CHP's there, not the state.

How much did they charge? In Texas, CHL address changes cost 2.5x as much as DL address changes.

I think Utah just updates the database but I don't see a fee, and it looks like you can do it by email. In Florida you have the option of a free address change in the database with no new card, or pay for a new card, but the choice is yours.

In Colorado, I sent an address change by snail mail and followed up with a phone call. That's when I was told no replacement card. No charge for the change of address. No option to pay for a replacement card. Just a comment to not sweat it. Interesting how the different states handle such things.
