Does anyone that lives in or near little elm have a favorite close gun store or range?
If not, where do you go to get your fix?

Thank you very much.

I don't think there are any. Maybe the couple of shops in Lewisville?

FFL Gun Dealers search shows 2 hits within 5 miles of 75068.

Mcdonell, Raymond W (0.00 miles)
1117 Shell Beach Drive
Little Elm, TX 75068

Armadillo Arms (4.73 miles)
Roels, Patricia Jean
1105 Ellard Dr
Hickory Creek, TX 75065

I don't know either of these personally.

Wheretoshoot.org shows 3 hits within 10 miles of 75068.

Dallas Gun Club, Lewisville TX 75067 [8.0]
North Texas Shooters Association, Corinth TX 76210 [7.6]
Denton County Archers, Aubrey TX 76227 [8.6]

There are no public ranges in your neighborhood. Too many nimby, tree-hugging liberal yankees moving in around there to allow any to continue. :banghead:

I would check out:

Old Town Gun Shop
(972) 420-7923
179 W Main St.
Lewisville, TX

Doc's Gun Shop
972) 245-2955
1600 Whitlock Ln.
Carrollton, TX

Since the public range on 380 closed, I shoot at either Bullet Trap on Ave. K in east Plano and at DFW Gun on Mockingbird. Both have decent showrooms (Bullet Trap has a much larger selection). Hope this helps.

bullet trap is probably the closest. i shoot at the range in garland and quail creek in argyle (darn near the city limit in lewisville).

both of those ranges are outside ranges (which i prefer) and have cheaper range fees than bullet trap which is an indoor range.

Johnny Polite:

Academy Sports and Outdoors in Lewisville, on the
eastern side of I-35E, usually has reasonable prices on
guns, although getting one at a gun show in Dallas,
Fort Worth, or Mesquite would probably be cheaper.

North Texas Arms is run by our fellow forum member salty1
and his wife. You can ask him for a quote and IIRC, he can
get you any brand. He's a Sig Sauer guy himself. They are located
in Highland Village, TX, on FM407.

For website gun buying: http://www.budsgunshop.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. They are
located in Kentucky, but their website is great, as are the prices.
You just have to line up an FFL in the Metroplex in order for you
to pick up your gun when it arrives from KY, or wherever they drop
shop it from.

Another good website is http://www.auctionarms.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. This site is the
authorized website for the NRA. You can buy outright at the stated
price, or do the auction/bidding thing.

I am totally familiar with the Lake Cities (Lake Dallas, Hickory
Creek, Corinth, and Shady Shores). I have never heard of the
Corinth folks mentioned in the post above.

Sure, you can shoot at the Dallas Gun Club (off the 35E, Southbound
service road, south of Vista Ridge Mall), if you don't mind forking over
something like $5,000 to become a member.

I shoot at Bass Pro in Grapevine. It's $10 for an hour of shooting, but
most times I've gone there, there isn't anyone waiting for my lane, so
the ranger officers just let me shoot until I run out of ammo. YMMV.

Welcome, neighbor.

I would also recommend Sporting Arms in Lewsiville. They have some inventory but you can order anything you want from them and there prices are really good.

If you need a FFL also look at using Tom Hart in Plano.

I go to bullet trap to shoot and then browse guns. I very rarely do I buy from them though. Sometimes they have good deals on used guns so I usually always try and browse that display cabinet.

I also second buds for online purchases they are hard to beat even auction sites if you are buying new.
