"A sound currency is the bedrock of a sound economy. Therefore, the United States government must stay ahead of counterfeiters and protect the integrity of our currency," he said.
Um... wouldn't it be important to have the "sound currency" actually be worth something more than the cool, holographic paper (fabric, whatever) it's printed on?

Can someone explain to me how this hurts forgers?
If there's no planned end of life for the old style, they can keep printing fake $100 bills in the old style, and keep passing them.

If we had "sound currency", there would be no counterfeiting. It's hard to fake gold or silver.

Check with the counterfeiters. The real ones don't come out until 2011.

I wonder how long until they phase out the current greenbacks. As was noted above, if the point of this is to stop counterfeiters then they will need to phase out the old style relatively quickly.

Thanks, but I wanted a real sample: will provide my mailing address for anyone interested in sending me a REAL Sample!
BUT if there is a picture of you know who on it, don't bother.
Cause it will have as much worth as the campaign promises.
