Howdy to ya'll

Post by redlin67 »

I have been reading on this site and have enjoyed everything so far. I would like add myself to the March waiting list. I mailed my packet on 3/30, but did not send it certified. However, I did my application on line, so they sent me a pin with the app. I took my class 3/20, had to wait a few days for some papers from Kentucky (my used to be home state). My status changed to "Processing Application" 4/19. Now I am doing the wait game and checking several times each day for any change. Going by what I am seeing on the recent wait times, I should be seeing something any day now. I only have a Taurus 85 revolver, but I have a cheap soft holster that fits nicely into my left front pocket with the handle toward the right. I have tested it with an unbloused loose t-shirt and it is totally undetectable. Can't wait for my first Wally Walk.

Welcome redlin67.

I've heard those Taurus 85s are good quality guns, though haven't had the opportunity to shoot one myself. I often carry a Smith & Wesson J-frame very similar to your 85 in my front pocket as well. Easiest way to carry, IMHO.

Curious, did you shoot the qualifying test with a borrowed semi-auto so you can carry either type of gun? Always thought the differentiation between revolver and semi-auto for test purposes was stupid (like saying you can't drive an automatic if you take your driving test with a 5-speed manual), but oh well law is the law until we change it.

Anyway, glad to have you here but especially glad that you'll be one more law-abiding armed citizen on our streets soon enough.

I did get it a few days ago and have done my obligatory Wally Walk, went to a gas station and to Blockbuster's. All went well as my nice Hawaiian shirt. Nary a glance from anyone that I noticed.
