I go to a range that has brass catchers. At the end of my session, I dump the bucket into my range bag before heading out. (I have a reloader on my Christmas list so I'm beginning to save brass.) Over the course of a few months, I've accumulated several live rounds, most appear to be bad primers or light strikes. I pull the .22 rounds apart with pliers (staying away from the rim), but the centerfire rounds arent so easy to deal with. What do I do with these rounds, other than take them back to the range and dump them in another brass bucket?

A lot of ranges have a dud dump receptacle.

If you include a bullet puller on your Christmas list, you can save them up and pull them later.

A bullet puller, huh? I guess it's easy to figure out what that tool does.

Make sure you put on your list an "Inertia"or "Impact" Bullet puller. I think it's the easiest way to pull bullets.

I don't mess with any primered round after a miss fire ! Leave it there on tha' ground/in a dump ( get it away from me )... I wouldn't mess with it NOR take it home !

If you don't want to mess with any recovery, you might take them to the nearest police station. They are set up to receive and dispose of any bad or questionable ammo. You probably want to do this for sure for any ammo that appears to be handloaded; you just don't know what it is loaded with and firing it could cause problems.

Actually, I prefer the cam-lock type:

I only use the kinetic puller for those that I don't have a collet for, or bullet shapes that it doesn't work well with.
