So i bought a brick of 22lr ammo at walmart and the lady asked for my id. I was quite puzzled by this since ive never shown id to buy ammo ever. I once bought about 10 boxes worth of .45 and they didnt ask. so being the type of person i am, I just kinda laughed and then showed her my chl. She said I didnt look 21 so thats why i was carded.its not a big deal just strange.

I can't go anywhere without being asked...
I'm not complaining about it though. At least when I do get older I will look younger.
Did she make any comment about the CHL?

When I shave I get ID'd for R-rated movies. When not clean cut they don't ID me for beer.

If you are, or appear to be under 21, they are supposed to ask for ID on the purchase of any ammunition that can be fired in a handgun.

My prayer:
Oh Lord, please let someone, anyone, ask me for ID.
Amen

No kidding! I've got $5.00 for the next checkout clerk who cards me. Heck, make it $10.00. It'll be worth it just to feel younger for a couple of minutes.

Funny story on being carded:
When I was a LEO many years ago we were doing bar checks for minors that had been served alcohol. We were running the local taverns (not bars, real taverns) on a Saturday afternoon. There were three of us; two male officers, a female. When we went into this one establishment which was right across the street from the police station. When we entered, we saw three people there, two gentlemen sitting at the bar in their early to mid-sixties and a woman by herself at a table who was every bit of 75 if she was a day. As we made the announcement we were checking for underage drinking, the female officer went over to the lady and jokingly said 'Ma'am, do you have an ID that shows you're old enough to be drinking?' The woman gave the female officer a really dirty look and then started lambasting her with 'Well, if you can't tell I am old enough, then you need to get better training' and 'I've been drinking in this bar for years and no one has bothered me about this before, why are you asking me now?'. The female officer was apologizing to the woman and the rest of us were just laughing. About that time the bartender said 'Yep, you don't mess with Lucille when she has her drunk on' and we just all started rolling.

Needless to say we left the bar and beat feet as fast as we could to get back over to the station before the lady officer did so we could tell our version of the story to the Desk Sargent and the Dispatcher on duty.

I just realized ...
Pretty cashiers used to ask for my phone number all the time, but they haven't in years ... I thought it was because I was older and less attractive but ... I guess I need to put away credit cards and start writing checks again, my checks don't have my phone number printed on them and it's fun to say "You are the third pretty girl to ask for my number today"...
