Today I went to a local pawn shop (Lakeview Pawnshop in The Colony) to get FFL info to order a rifle online. While there I spotted a rack of used rifles and asked about any 30-06s. They had some and I wound up buying a nice Savage 110 in 30-06. It's probably a older model since it doesn't have a Accu trigger. The trigger is light and crisp though. It has a Bushnell Banner 4X12 scope and the wood work is perfect. The rifling looks good from what I could see. There is a minor amount of pitting on the outside of the end of the barrel. I bought it for $350.00 OTD. They threw in a case and sling. I think I did all right. That's about half what I expected to spend for a good hog/whitetail rig. I'll be sighting it in sometime next week. Can't wait!!! :thumbs2:

You may know this already but take some oooo steelwool and gun oil and buff out the pitting. Looks like a nice rifle and should shoot good.

I've yet to find a Savage that won't shoot well. You'll love that gun! Not too often that I see them with real wood stocks. That makes that one a keeper!

I have a Savage 340 in .30-30 caliber that is a mid-50's model. It was my Dad's deer rifle. I have used it for a lot of years and taken quite a few deer with it. I love the gun. It is a great shooter and would not ever get rid of it even without the sentimental value of it. :thumbs2:

I have a Savage 110 in .243 that if I remember right I've had since the mid 1980's. It's a great shooter and I'm like Keith B. I wouldn't get rid of that thing for anything. My Dad bought it for me and it has put quite a lot of venison on the table over the years.

Nice rifle. I picked up a Savage 110 in .270 at Cabela's recently. I love that rifle.
