Morristown, Tennessee, today -- A woman pretending to have car trouble called at a home at 1:30 this morning. When the homeowner opened the door, two men rushed the door and began shooting.

The homeowner defended himself with [are you ready for this?] a .22-caliber pistol that he had bought for his wife for mother's day.

The woman took one in the neck and died. The men fled.
"[The homeowner] is to be commended on a job well done in defending his family." said [the county sheriff]. "If he had not taken the action that he took, I'm sure that the family could have been harmed and seriously injured."

You can see it's a pretty nice house and would attract such criminal geniuses.

Can we clone this sheriff?

The homeowners had appeared on a reality show last year, so I expect this story to be covered widely.

P.S.: I'm glad the righteous people are unharmed except for the bullet holes in the door, but this kind of thing would really spoil your weekend.

There are those who still say that if there hadn't already been a Tennessee, there wouldn't be a Texas.

I'm gonna' go a little sideways on this thread (I'm sorry) but has anyone heard anything about widespread rapin', killin' and robbin' in Tennessee during and after the flooding?

We were saturation bombed with those reports after Hurricane Katrina in NOLA? What's the diff? :headscratch
