TWO KIMBERS For Sale:
(1)
SOLD AND DELIVERED
Brand new Kimber Super Carry Pro.
Kimber sells them for $1530, and they are still hard to find because they are a 2010 model and Kimber's first bobtail .45 ACP.
I like the gun, but not as much as another one I have my eyes on.
I am selling this Super Carry Pro for....
$1000. That is a steal on this gun, I'm not trying to be greedy, just moving both these Kimbers for another gun I have my eye on.
2)
SOLD AND SHIPPED
(Used Kimber Tactical Pro II
For sale is a used Kimber Tactical Pro II, I do not have any idea of the exact round count as I also bought it used. It is in excellent condition, I would rate it's condition as 90%. It does have an external extractor, so I am pricing it accordingly at
$750.
I'm in Abilene and prefer a face to face sale. If you are in the metroplex area, I have met several buyers/sellers in the past about halfway in between here and there on I-20 at the New York Hill Restaurant in Thurber. If you want to meet there, Wednesday is the best day for me this week.

ScubaSigGuy, your PM has been replied to.
dicion, I prefer the FTF because it's getting expensive to ship through an FFL, mine charges me a flat fee of $50.
A side benefit is that I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of great folks from this forum !!

If you are both in Texas then no need for an FFL.

Not sure what you mean by this, but if I don't sell a gun face to face
to someone, I go through an FFL for my own peace of mind.
I will, however, try to avoid the $50 FFL fee my dealer charges if
I am able to meet someone face to face.

I meant that in Texas you can ship to a buyer legally. I am interested in the Carry Pro but am not wasting $$ on a FFL.

The Super is sold and will be delivered at a FTF meeting tomorrow at lunch.
rm9792, By shipping it like you are saying, does the package have to go to a UPS Hub store and be declared as a firearm?

Per ATF regs you must comply with the common carrier rules and some carriers dont know their own rules but your specific question about UPS is yes. It has to go to their hub and I think it is either 2day or overnight. Lone Star is the most friendly to use. I always get the TDL or preferably chl faxed to me and will only ship to that address with same persons signature. Not required but we all have our own way of doing things.
Q: May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by common or contract carrier?
A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm.
[18 U.S.C. 922(a)(2)(A), 922(a) (3), 922(a)(5) and 922(e), 27 CFR 478.31 and 478.30]

Thank you very much for the information ! A fellow wanting to buy the Tactical Pro II just sent me the same thing by e-mail. I could have saved a lot of money over the years if I had been doing this long ago !
Again, THANKS !
Dave

NEWS FLASH:
I went to both the UPS hub location and the FedEx Hub location here in Abilene this morning to ship the Tactical Pro II to the buyer inside the state of Texas.
BOTH locations REFUSED to accept the shipment, both said that they will ONLY accept the shipment is it is going from a lecensed gun dealer to a licensed gun dealer.
I showed both locations the federal ATF regulation that I printed off fropm this thread, it made no difference. I got supervisors involved at both locations, that made no difference.
So now the buyer has to send me a copy of his FFL's license and it will cost me $50 to send it from my FFL.
Those of you who sent me the ATF information... thank you, but it is not going to do me any good if both UPS and FedEx refuse to accept the shipment.

This issue has been widely discussed on these pages, and as you have found out the law is irrelevant because none of the carriers will take the package. Sorry you had to find out the hard way that there are a lot of idiots who are happy to quote the law to you but who have no firsthand experience of what happens in the real world.

This idiot has shipped several items via lso and ups. It all depends on who is behind the counter.
