I now have my five year olds dream job

So I got a job as a railroad switchman, today was my official first day of work, and after doing all the paperwork I was informed that I was in fact NOT a railroad switchman (which is good, that is hard work out in the elements the whole shift: rain, shine, snow, etc) but they wanted me to be a train engineer now which is awesome because who didn't like trains as a kid and want to drive one when they grew up? While it's not my dream job, it is still an awesome job that I wanted to be when I was little and that my son wants to be now and when I told him his eyes lit up and he was all happy that his dad was an engineer on a train and wanted to know if he could drive the train with me, etc, etc. (I broke his heart when I told him no, he was too little). I'm just bragging because that job basically has made me my sons hero because I get to drive trains for my job, put a twinkle in my eye knowing that.

I had a friend who years ago asked his 5 year old son what he wanted to be when he grew up. The son answered, 'Well, either a fireman (respectable), an astronaut (awesome!!), or a garbage man (OH NO!) :eek6 I guess riding around on that big truck might look cool to a 5 year old. ;-) Luckily the son grew up to be a aerospace engineer. :thumbs2:

So congratulations on you being a train engineer and him wanting to be the same. Just remember, you might be a redneck if you are a garbage man and the kid wants to go into the family business. (That is unless you are in New Jersey, and then your in the OTHER family business as garbage men. )
