Bought it Saturday, shot it today for the first time.

.40 S&W recoil was NOT bad at all.

I was surprised by how well it shot for first time out of the chute.

As a car gun this I'll definitely work!

It's my daily carry, except for work. :grumble

It is a great little gun and does shoot well. I also do not think that the recoil is too bad. At least it's better than my dad's little .38 snub nose and less than a .357 and .44 magnum. I've never shot a .45, so I don't know, but would guess that it is also less than that.

I have shot both and I would call it a different recoil.... not necessarily lighter just different. My G27 seemed like a short snappy recoil where my .45 3" barrel seemed slower to come on but about the same.

Couldn't have said it better. This was my experience as well.

Exactly what I experienced as well. I think my 45 3" shoots smoother.

The difference is the higher pressure load in the .40 vs. the lower preeusre round of the .45. The higher pressure rounds like the 9mm and .40 are much more 'snappy' than the lower pressure of the .45.

Doc,

It's Trig from BFC. Small world. For some reason I missed that you lived in Texas on your BFCOT post.

Either way, BFCOT FTW.
