Newest on Joe

Many of you are familiar with our 18 yo son having gone into Cardiac distress.
We have been back to Dallas for checkup, and echocardiogram. Drs say there has been no change. While that might sound negative, I am glad it hasn't deteriorated further, which is what Drs feared might happen. They were predicting by this time he would have to have the LVAD pump, but not at this point. Joe was a little discouraged that it has not shown improvement, but prayerfully that will come with time.
The frightening thing to me is that many do well on this portable IV pump for months/years, then suddenly overnight the heart goes and has to have emergency surgery. Certainly we trust in God, but we cannot let our guard fully down on this either.
More news of concern is that his Medicaid will expie in a couple of months, so we must get him onto the High Risk Pool insurance. The insurance is high, but cheaper than the treatments.... HOWEVER I am finding it does not cover his IV therapy which is close to $10,000 per month. We have not heard from disability and may take 6 more months IF everything goes well and we do not need a lawyer.
Wanted to give all concerned an update.
Thanks for all the notes of concern and well wishes
Wayne and family
PS, I now have a facebook page for me... Wayne Goforth. Feel free to add me
