For games on July 4 weekend, Major League Baseball Clubs will wear special “Stars & Stripes” caps, which have the American flag etched into the team’s logo and are off-white in color with red or blue brims (the Toronto Blue Jays hat will incorporate a Maple Leaf design instead of the “Stars & Stripes”). Major League Baseball Properties will donate 100% of the proceeds it receives from the sale of the caps to Welcome Back Veterans, a program which addresses the needs of returning American Veterans and their families.

I stand corrected (boy do I feel dumb...I will chalk this one up to it being late)...I can handle the Mets. By default I am a Mets fan, kinda like I used to be a White Sox fan by default...until he came along.

I became 'aware' of baseball when I was about 7 (1986) and I lived two subway stops from Shea Stadium, so I became a Mets fan by default...and I have remained a fan ever since. I lived in Minnesota for about 7 years after that, so the Twins became my AL favorite. Still following them today, but the Mets will always be "my" team.
I think it was 87 when the Twins beat the Cards?

Ouch!!! Yet I believe that the Cards have 10 World Series titles and the most recent was 2006 where the Twins have just 2 and the most recent being 1991
I grew up down the road from STL so I have been a lifelong Cardinals fan. I have family in Boston so that is why I like them.
I have just recently become a Baseball fan. I am turning my upstairs living room into a baseball room. I have picked up quite a bit of memorbilia in the last few months.

Very true, and that's why I generally don't tout my teams because of this. I am a glutton for punishment! lol
Mets, Twins, NY Rangers, MN Vikings...not exactly in the same arena as other powerhouses!

Hey you gotta stay with your teams through thick and thin.
Like I said I am from the STL area so growing up I was a Cardinal fan...NFL so when the Rams came I became a Rams fan. We sucked horribly, became the best in the NFL and now we suck worse yet I am still a Rams fan. Same with the Blues (NHL) they are choke artists in the playoffs.
And to be fair '06 was the Cards first title since '82 and well you know the drought the Sox went through...No, I was not there for all of it, hardly any of it really.

Just an FYI your teams are doing pretty darn good this first half of the season...Rangers and Twins are leading their divisions and the Mets are in the lead for the Wild Card.

You guys talking about how long it's been since your team won the World Series reminded me how tough it is to be a Cubs fan.
