Evesdropping at Dinner

I was on a date at Logans Roadhouse in Lewisville tonight enjoying dinner and conversation when someone at the next table said somethin that pulled all my attention away from my date..."well, I thought you were allowed to defend yourself and your property".
After I heard that I was tuned in!
The people at the table were a younger couple in thier early 20s and an onlder couple, presumably one of thier parents.
They were talkin about the recent Justin, Tx shooting where the guys were tryin to steal that fella with the 12ga's AC unit.
The younger guy then proceeded to educate the older fella about self defence, the laws and the Castle Doctrine and whatnot.
Needless to say I was thrilled to be a witness to this and felt better knowing someone near me may be packing since I wasn't at the time.
I don't know if the kid was packin or not but he had it all...a dark t-shirt that was loose fitting and untucked. I thought at one point I saw a bulge at about 9 o'clock but couldn't be sure.
If he doesn't have his CHL i'm sure he's at least been doin his research and is headed in that direction.
Nothing really Informative here or anything, just thought I'd share what I overheard at dinner that made me happy to hear coming from such a young fella.

PBWalker.....I would have if I hadn't lost my wallet last week.
The new one is bought at paid for though, just waitin on the snail mail.
XD45...I told her what I was listening to. Besides I'm a master of listening to one thing and still maintaing proper placecments of the "uh huh", "yup" and "really" in conversation with the other person.

Wish I could say the same for myself. It sure would make things easier with my wife...or I could just start listening to her

Oh man, sorry to hear that! I misplaced my wallet several years ago and the feeling is horrible. I had a sinking feeling for two days...
I hope nothing else bad happened (credit cards, etc.)

Maybe, but that sounds like a lot of work....at let's be serious, no man should have to work that hard in his life! I'd rather be on a chain gang.

PB...everything was in there.
40.00 I had just gotten from the ATM, my EMS state and local certs and permits required to work, 3 cc and a debit card, military id, dl, chl, ss card(I know, I know. Just never took it out after I moved), blockbuster card....etc....
My biggest concearn with it all was that they'd find my chl and tear my house up knowing I have guns. So far though all is good.

Nah. Here's what I do.. As she's talking, just stare and nod.
That frees up valuable time for you to be thinking of other stuff.
A little somethin I learned after 25 years of marriage.

There's a down fall to this.... I tend to forget things she's said like "I told you my mother was coming over today" Just make sure you have key words like "buy", "spend" and "shop" that snap you back into the convo

That works well and good until the wife says "Great! Give me the credit card! I just saw a Coach purse on sale for only $315.00 at Macy's! Thanks! I'll be right back!"

(names have been omitted to protect the innocent)
