They must have been in those houses to be familiar enough with them to choose houses with safes and to be so bold as to go when they knew people were there to witness it. It wouldn't be surprising if they had a service-industry job that got them or their accomplices in the door the first time around.

Good theory. If it is correct, it would seem that a connection between all of the victims and company X could be established fairly easily and the criminals tracked down fairly quickly.

Mine weighs about 600 lbs, empty. It is also bolted to a concrete slab, through the floor of the safe, so the bolts are not accessible if the safe is closed. It could be stolen by a determined enough crew of thieves, but they would have to dismantle the wrought iron gate across my driveway to gain access to the rear of the house, back a caterpillar up my driveway, knock down an exterior wall of my house, put a steel cable around the safe, rip it off the bolts, and drag it down my driveway to steal it.

If I weren't home, I think my neighbors would notice. If I were home, I would probably wake up.

I can tell you this. If it's not bolted down, you're asking for problems. Mine was stolen from my house in the middle of the day a couple of years ago, and my neighbor watched the whole thing. Of course, she didn't bother to get a license plate or anything. :mad5

Point is, if you're safe isn't bolted down, consider doing it.

We have a national security magnum,it weighs 1565# empty. Its bolted down to concrete,
and we have a very good alarm system. We also know it can be gotten past by a pro.
So we do the best we can. :txflag:

I hope someone puts a couple dozen bullets into these guys. Until then, remember "Loose lips sink ships."

If you moved it to the MArine base on Guam, it could be the final weight needed to capsize the island.

Mine is about 600lb and bolted to the slab. I have a good security system although a professional could get me. I don't think my little stuff would be worth his trouble. I worry more about fire.

Safe at home for the guns, but the non-replaceable items are in my safe deposit box at the bank. I don't recall ever hearing of a bank burning down.

My safe only weights 6 or 700 pounds, but my maid is not one to be messed with. "rlol"
