I'm planning on going to the Hunter's Extravaganza at the Alamodome in San Antonio this weekend. Anyone been to this event before? Is it a 'no-guns' venue? I didn't see anything on the website...

Keith, it looks like it's a hunting show only:

"Plan now to attend the only hunting show big enough for Texas! Try out the latest deer hunting equipment, hunting accessories, hunting clothing, rifles, knives, archery & other exciting hunting gear. Share the excitement of the upcoming hunting season with fellow hunters. Whether you’re getting ready for Texas deer hunting or hunting abroad, this is the place where hunters go to get the best deals. Contests, attractions, celebrities and more!"

The Texas Trophy Hunters Association are calling it the The Granddaddy of ALL Texas hunting shows:

 Well, I'd think it has to do with bird hunting in Mexico, but I don't think that's quite healthy now days.

I added another link. It should be a good one!

My old dentist (ex and aged) hunted all over the world including Viet Nam, Africa, South America, Europe, Russia and even Communist China. Often he could bring in his own weapon but a few he would have to arrange for weapons and ammo through the consulate and guide. He even got a trophy for killing one of everything around the world; I mean a list of game animals...not LITERALLY one of everything.

I have been to the same show when it came to Houston. Threre were no fireams for sale. The did have quite alot of bow hunting equipment for sale. I would say its about 70% Texas guided hunts, 15% long distance / safari type hunts 15% bow hunting supplies / misc hunting accesories.
