Here is some info for any other border dwellers out there . Well, everyone figured it was coming. Last night there was the first car bombing in Juarez, Mexico that I am aware of. About 9pm last night a Mexican Federal officer was shot and killed about 1/4 mile from the U.S. border. As first responders arrived to the scene a car bomb was detonated killing another officer and a medic as well as injuring a dozen of other officers, medics and a Tv cameraman. My house is on a hill, so from my front porch, I could see the area about 3 miles away directly south. It was crazy. Lights, sirens, helicopters and major activity most of the night. Reminded me of the troubles in Belfast during the 80s.
Jihadist tactics only yards away from our border. If you don't have to cross in Mexico, don't do it.

So how long before they start blowing up cars on the U.S. side?

Yes, because its our loose gun control laws that allow this to happen. (Is there a smiley for sarcasm?)

Unfortunately, I feel it will take a major confrontation with the cartels on U.S. soil before our government will apply any meaningful resources to the problems encroaching our southern border.

Yeah, that was a couple of weeks ago. A police officer in Mexico was gunned down and some of the bullets hit City Hall. Most people don't realize just how close we are to the border. The El Paso City hall is only about 1500 yards from the spot in Mexico where the shooting took place. About 7 rounds hit the building near the 9th floor and had enough power to penetrate a couple of walls.
Funny thing is buildings, homes, and cars in El Paso have been hit many times over the years and no one cares, but when it happens to City Hall, our fine government officials get all bent out of shape.

I have some contacts in the rat line that say they are surprised it hasn't happened already.

Frankly I'm surprised that its taken this long. I realize that I've thrown some stupid questions out over the years and I see no reason to stop now (actually I appreciate my fellow forums members input). So with that said, what do you think its going to take to stop these narco terrorists?
I understand their motives in regards to attacking law enforcement. But now they're targeting and killing medical personal as well?
I fear we will see more and more of this in the days to come, and we will all remember this car bomb as the first of many.
God bless the innocents who get caught up in this war.

Not good. Car bombs are nasty. Sometime in 1985-86, Back in my home town Beirut, a car bomb exploded just at the sunrise some 60 ft from my Bedroom. It was deafening and rude awakening!

If the gun shops in America would stop selling all those car bombs to the Mexicans, this wouldn't be happening.
