Wife and I are attending a Buble concert tonight at the Toyota Center. Does anyone know if I can carry in there?

According to the http://www.texas3006.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; website, no, you cannot carry.

Thanks for the heads up. Still a bit confusing, buut I believe I'll leave "baby" at home. I really don't like walking in a parking garage unarmed.

On what grounds do they prevent a CHL holder from carrying there when it isn't a professional sporting event that is being attended?

The Toyota Center is owned by the Houston Sports Authority, which is a political subdivision of the city... they even admit as such on their website: http://www.houstonsports.org/about/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . If there's no sporting event going on there, they can't prevent your entry because you're carrying.

I would print out a copy of §30.06 and bring it with me, and if anyone tried to prevent my entry, give them the copy and then tell them they could expect to hear from my lawyer about it. Houston and Harris County need to be constantly reminded that they're not above the law.

We have all been waiting for someone to step up and be a test case. If anyone attempts this I offer them a good luck. Do a search on American Airlines Center which is in Dallas if you want a good read about enforcing a supposedly unenforceable 30.06 sign on city property.

I went there once for the Dino show and no one at the door and no metal detectors.

Went to the Buble concert, last night--excellent! Didn't see any 30.06 signs, metal detectors, etc. A friend asked me why I was concerned and I replied simply: "Parking garage." He said "They'd better not mess with me!" I retorted, "with as gun in your face and you unarmed?"

Didn't they used to play at some big church over by the galleria?

When I went to the Eagles concert two years ago there were proper 30.06 signs at the doors. You can't miss them.

Went to TSO concert yesterday, saw the wording on the side of the doors. I would say no carrying in there. Glad I left mine in the car the line was way too long to have to go back.
