First AR build and question

Here is my first AR build. Its a Noveske Infidel upper with the Vltor VIS mated with a POF Gen III billet lower. Running an Eotech XPS-2 and G23.FTS magnifier. I have a Noveske forged lower that should be here in the next day or so that I will try. The rifle is extremely accurate.
My question has to do with the FTS magnifier. I currently have it oriented to flip to the right side. I am afraid of spent casings hitting the magnifier lens. For those running this set up, is this even a concern?

the noveske lower should help with the play. my rifles i built have a little play but as long as it goes bang its not a big deal. it can be annoying at times. as far as the other issue i have no experience with that.

Mine EOTech 3X magnifier is set to flip to the right, and I've never had brass hit it when it was flipped over. However, I've only fired a few rounds that way. Most of the time on the range, I prefer the magnifier 'cause I've got old man eyes. I would be pretty confident of shooting reasonably well with it out to 50 yards or so without the magnifier, but beyond that, I think not.
BTW, I don't know if you knew this or not (I didn't until I bought my magnifier), but those adjustment screws on the magnifier will shift the lens up/down and left/right to center your EOTech sight's reticle in the middle of the magnifier view.
