I shot a Glock and I liked it ...

Post by terryg »

I posted this last on Saturday - but it was buried in another thread of a different topic. I thought it might deserve a life of its own:
terryg wrote:Oh yeah - while at the range, a constable let me fire his .40 Glock (I think it was a G22??).

I gotta say to all you Glock fan boys out there - it was pretty nice. It was nice, confident, solid shooting, the rounds went right where I was aiming. In fact, my group was in the red and a bit tighter than the LEO's. I felt a little guilty  - but he just said "good eye" or something like that.
It was Saturday afternoon at Marksman Indoor Range in South Houston. I did like it. I don't think I'm ready for a Glock to be me carry weapon or anything. A little too big and I think I would prefer the opposing passive safety's (trigger and grip) of the Springfield XD. But firing it was certainly satisfying ...

Terry, we have a Celebrate Recovery ministry at our church for people who are in rebellion against God's will for our lives.

You can reenter into a state grace however by simply purchasing a 1911.

Glad you liked it! The G22 is the .40 full sized model. They are great guns and are a pleasure to shoot. It is okay to own 1911's, revolvers, and even a Glock or two at the same time. I've got 'em all and have come to appreciate the Glock for what it is. It's a reliable, accurate, and very durable pistol (even if I didn't want to believe it at first  )
I got my first G19, just to see what the hype was all about. Now I own 6 of 'em :

Give the RTF2 (Rough Textured Frame version 2)a try and see how you like it. The grip feels a lot different than the standard Glock grip.
XD's are good pistols and are worth looking into, as well as the M&P line from S&W.
Please note that Glock's and Glock knockoffs are just as addictive as any other pistol. Consider yourself warned... :reddevil

I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.

And what do the Desert Fathers have to say about Glocks?:

Yeah, I shot one once too.

I was surprised at how little damage was done with the first hit (just a small chunk out of the grip). My second shot messed up the slide pretty good though.

And.........."I liked it". ;-)

I'm currently on the hunt for one:

I am carrying a Tomcat until I figure out which one it will be.

I do have a 1911 - I just don't carry it. Does that count?

I don't know. Depends on where you're at. Just yesterday my pastor preached on the difference between confession and repentance. "rlol"

Say three John Moses Brownings and two Kimbers, and all will be forgiven.

The motto at our church is, "you get what you pay for", so we all carry Sigs.
