You must be 21 to have a CHL, so they may not be able to properly defend themselves.

You don't need to have a gun to pay attention to your surroundings. If you notice someone following you, drive to the police station or call 911 and have the police meet you somewhere. Teens can do a lot of different things to keep themselves out of harms way.

What I was trying to say is...we teach and train ourselves, let's not forget to teach and train our children too!

I completely agree. What I was trying to say is children are especially vulnerable to crimes of this type. The BGs might expect adults to be armed, but not children so they may see them as "easy targets" for carjackings and other crimes.

Can you imagine how crazy it will be if they find out the kid made the story up to cover for doing something stupid with that truck. I'm willing to wait it out before getting the rope, but what a great cover story for wrecking your truck. Beats telling the parents you had been drinking and drove into a tree or off in the Bayou...LOL.

Thanks for the article. We are on vacacation in Branson, Mo and have been out of touch.I try to instill in my kids that crime can happen any where anytime. My wife is finally caring full-time when it isn't convenient to carry her 9mm since I got us a LCP for a bug to share.

This happened in friendswoods city limts but by no means is considered friendswood by their residents.

You must be looking at the El Dorado part of the article where the boy was let out of the truck. His home in on Pine Hollow Drive off of Sunset and that is part of "old" Friendswood; i.e. Galveston County and not Harris County.
