This topic has been discussed for other cities.

I was getting a tour of the new Pearland Police Department building the other evening and noted that the building is shared by the municipal court. Even though they are separated by security doors, I am of the opinion that the Police department would be off limits for concealed carry as well.

IANAL, but PC 46.03 clearly states "on the premises of any government court or offices utilized by the court, unless pursuant to written regulations or written authorization of the court;"

Definition of Premises...""Premises" means a building or a portion of a building. The term does not include any public or private driveway, street, sidewalk or walkway, parking lot, parking garage, or other parking area.

If the court part is separated from the police part, then I would think only the "portion" of the building containing the courtrooms would be off limits.

The police portion can be segregated into public and secure. The secure portions are off limits. Does the court have a separate entrance? If there is a common entrance then the whole building is off limits IMHO.

In the Beaumont Police Station Carry is OK in the public lobby but, not in other areas. The secure areas of the building are only accessible by coded security badges. A non employee must be escorted by an officer or civilian employee inside the secure area.

Court facilities are another area for confusion I just leave it locked in the car.
