Two weeks and NO action!

It's been two weeks since I mailed off my packet back to Austin and the website still says, "Packet mailed to applicant".

How long does it take to change to some other statement indicating action?

From what I've seen in the waiting room, most applications aren't switched to processing til around a month. The only way I've seen most people report the application was received was to use return receipt when mailing.

It can take quite a while. You've got to remember that CHL applications are up also and yours is one of many. Don't forget also that the offices are closed on weekends.

It WILL come.

They received mine Aug 30 and it still doesn't show any change. I called up there to make sure they received it(I know they did, sent it Registered Mail). The lady up there says they're about 30 days behind in getting them put into the system.

Read My Post... It Might Give A Little Insight...

Its been a full five weeks since I sent mine in, and there is no update on the website. However, when I called them in Austin to find out what the deal was, they told me that my packet had already been entered into system and that they had already sent out requests to two different counties for background checks.

Give them a call, they are quite helpful and polite, at least in my experience.

Hey all!

Guess what the Texasonline website still says? Yup... that's right... "Processing Application". Yet... guess what I received in the mail Saturday? Yup... you got it right again! It's my CHL!!!! Yippee! :o

So, to all of you out there that were in my shoes... CALL THEM! They are not updating their site as often as they should. Why? They are too overwhelmed.

So, let's see... it took a total of 63 days to get my CHL in the mail. That's not all that bad I guess from all I've read.

Keep your chin up and smile... it'll be here 'fore ya know it!
(Plus... Smile a lot and everyone will wonder what you're up to!!)

Definitely would call DPS and do some checking up on status... by 5 weeks it should have changed by now....unless re-do on prints, etc.
