That sounds like a REALLY cool/awesome event! From what I have read on the website for it, it appears that you show up and shoot *LaRue's* firearms (and AMMO!!), as in - no need to bring your own guns/ammo. I'm sort of "skeered" that if I go I might not be coming home alone (ie - something tactical might "follow" me home :biggrinjester: ). Of course, that's why events like these exist! Well, one of the reasons. Talk about a great way to get new customers (who don't own an AR-type rifle, like me) and build rapport with the firearms community in general. I wonder if the wife would enjoy this... :biggrinjester:

I moved from Pasadena to about 15 miles west of the Range.
Roughly 200 miles from Pasadena to there; quickest way is 290 to 183 in Austin, then turn LEFT on 29 at Seward Junction (183 at 29) just past the Gas Station/convenience store on the right.
If you have an up to date Garmin GPS, it may say to take a county road off 290, that's even a bit quicker and it bypasses most of the Austin 290/183 section of traffic.
Only caution is when you go through Giddings, and you think "Speed limit must be 70 this far out of town" as you pass the car dealership on the left (may be closed now).... it isn't until another 100 yards, wait till you see the 70 mph sign !!! (don't ask how I know)
Not sure why they didn't list any motels in Burnet (just up the road on 29) One could visit Inks Lake State Park and other places and call it a family vacation without the Cedar Park traffic. (I've never seen a 30.06 sign in Burnet and I've looked since 2007)
