I hate to say it, but gregthehand is looking for a job

Well the VP of my group called me into a conference room today and told me that a layoff was "eminent" and that while I missed the last one I won't be missing this one. So I find myself looking for a position around the Houston area. I am primarily a supply chain/distribution guy. I have my undergrad in Industrial Management from Sam Houston State University and my Masters of Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M. I have worked in oilfield supply for about six to seven years but I'm not opposed to going into a new industry. I have a resume available if you need it. If you have something or a lead please let me know.

I am in the staffing industry. 2 of the better ones are Job Fox and LinkinIN. Both post for free, and Many firms use them rather than Monster, etc. We use JobFox almost exclusively and place successfully many more from these than the other sites..Hope this helps. You can get local or international, whatever you choose.. :hurry:

I have an interview with the Boy Scouts of America tomorrow. I am extremely interested in this job and really hope I get it. I know it's a little bit different then what I was doing but I really feel called to this job. I have been in the process of starting scouting in my community and so I was familiar with the people in professional scouting at the council level. Also I was in Scouting from six to eighteen.

The pay is comparable and I know I'll LOVE the job. To me that's important right now than money. I want to do something that will have a lasting impression and not just a huge paycheck.

Everyone pray I get it!

Have any job seekers used JobFox successfully? I tried to browse jobs but they want me to provide a lot of information before they'll even let me see what's available. I'm currently employed and I don't have time for sites that don't have appropriate local listings in my field. (Imagine if gunbroker required you to fill out a profile before it let you see if any XDm 45s are posted. )

Greg? Any news from the scouts?

Still looking. The Boy Scouts thing didn't work out. Turns out they needed someone that spoke Spanish.

I've met Greg, and I'll stand up to say I'd hire him in a minute were I in my former Fortune 500 managerial position.

Not only is he Army, he put himself through to an MBA in Supply Chain Management. His parents never paid a dime for his education. He did it all himself.

Greg is top-notch.

I am working now for another oilfield supply company. It's through a temp agency but the owner seems to like me and already has me managing things once he found out my experience.

We'll see how it goes... :txflag:
