Have a 640-1 .357 5 shot j frame that I would like to sell. Stainless steel with the rubber factory grips. This is an excellent carry gun. The only reason I'm selling is that I was GIVEN a 442 airweight and I always carried .38+p in it anyways. Plus I can use the money right now for other things. $500 firm. FTF anywhere in the Austin to Killeen area.
Not sure how to ad pics here but this is the link to the TGT ad with pics.

How do you like the 442? I'm considering one as well.

I have a 640-3, and these are excellent pistols. Like you, I carry a M&P340 instead of the 640 because the former is a lighter pistol (also a .357), but that 640 is an excellent choice for either a carry gun, or a kit gun to keep in your car or something. And the trigger on the 640 is much nicer than on any of the Airweight .38s.
Whoever gets this gun is getting a really nice pistol.

I agree. The 640 is a great pistol and if I could talk my wife into carrying all the time then I would keep it and she could have the 442. But that is not likely to happen any time soon. I wish I could afford to "collect" guns but as it stands I try to only own what I have a definite use for and as it stands now, The 640 is a closet queen
