In a surprise and significant move, Senator Majority Leader Harry Reid today announced plans for a vote as early as next week on the Defense Department Re-authorization bill that will include the DREAM Act, according to the National Immigration Forum.

The DREAM Act, legislation that has been lingering in Congress for years, would provide a path to legalization for some young people who were brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents or others. It offers legalization to young people who attend college or join the military. [Follow the link for the rest of the article.]

Yet another reason to contribute dollars to Ms. Angle, Reid's opponent for the upcoming senate election in Nevada. ;-)

Sadly, I'm not sure we can get these fools (on both sides of the aisle) out of office fast enough. They're going to do a lot more damage before the midterm elections are complete and the newbies get sworn in.

Bush made the path to citizenship for immigrants who served active duty easier to take. But citizenship for college is ridiculous. The next generation will have to deal with new citizens with huge student loan debt for their worthless history/South American studies degrees collecting unemployment and free healthcare. They will feel that being a day laborer will be beneath them. I know that sounds like a hate filled worse case scenario buts it's not.

Imagine if they got a degree in Communications

Also can we as a collective group stop using the phrase "down our throats"

25% of the voting public in Nevada is Hispanic. Reid is pulling out all the stops. On top of that my daughter like many of yours will be seeking student loans to help cover the cost of for her, vet school. We Americans do not need our college age sons and daughters competing with illeagals for funds. We know who will win that battle.

I'm sure the Democrats would also like to see those new citizens spent some time getting indoctrinated by a liberal professor or three.
They are investing in their future.
