Which shotgun for cowboy action shooting?

Which shotgun should I get for cowboy action shooting? I want something that is sturdy and will not break easily. I want something simple and will take apart for cleaning easily. I want something that has a reasonable price tag. I want something that can shoot reasonably well. I don't require an expensive gunsmithed hair trigger. In other words, it doesn't have to be perfect for competition. However, it does have to be affordable and shoots reasonably well.

I worked my google fu and it seems that all the advice out there tells people to spend big bucks on a gunsmith for a custom job. I don't want to do that. I just want to have fun. I am not out there to win competitions.

So, what shotgun do you recommend? What are your personal experiences?

Thanks,
:tiphat:

I'll cast my vote for Stoeger coach guns. I have two of them, one in stainless and one in blue, both 12-gauge. They're not "purist" due to their hammerless design, but they're as close to perfect as you could want for both cowboy shooting and general double-barrel fun. My blue one is loaded with 00-buck and serves as the home defense longarm for us, as well as the shotgun I used for three years for CAS. They point naturally and are easily to break open when they're timing you!
