The story describes how the Toronto police target gun owners who have let their firearms licenses expire. They give an example of one guy who owned a 12-gauge shotgun and a .22 rifle. The police telephoned him to remind him that gun license had expired. They showed up at his door and seized his guns 15 minutes later.

This reminds me of my time in exile when I had to live in the People's Republic of Maryland. Private FTF firearm sales were illegal unless you subsequently reported all the details of the sale to the Maryland State Police. Well, the police would watch the classified ads for firearms for sale. They would wait a couple of weeks and then call the owner asking if the guns were still for sale. When they owner replied that they were sold, the police would come arrest him for not reporting the sale.

Canada is not the U.S. Their ballpark, their rules.....

As for Maryland, they need to reread the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America.........

Obviously it isn't the US. But the point is that every country that has required gun registration has eventually led to confiscation. And make no mistake that there are plenty of people in this country who want to register it all.

Nothing good can come from gun registration.

Calling to remind them that their license expired is the civil thing to do if you're going to treat your citizens as slaves. Showing up 15 minutes later to confiscate their guns is just plain theft.

Take the time to get others interested in going to the range with you. The more new people learn about guns, the more people will vote to protect their right to own them. I personally will not vote for anyone who does not have a history of supporting the second amendment and opposes registration.

Another example would be the absolute trash happening in Venezuela right now. You thought the country was bad before, just wait until only Chavez's goons have guns. I predict in the next year things there will get really ugly.

If guns were as common as cell phones and cable tv no politician would dare try to ban them. The laws will ultimately follow what the people are willing to tolerate, so the important thing is to get as many people as possible to become intolerant of firearm restrictions.

Don't say that too loudly! There is a movement afoot to ban the use of cell phones in cars -- total ban.

I have a feeling that there is a new topic brewing here: Use of cell phones/texting/distracted driving......I think I'll start a new thread and we'll just get this baby off on a good start.......
